Germany 1919-39 Source Material
Germany 1919-39 is an area for which a wealth of Source Material exists. Covering the formation of the Weimar Republic and the problems faced by the interim government and fledging Republic; the stabilisation of the German economy and society in the mid to late 1920s; the impact of the Depression; the Rise of the NSDAP; Hitler’s Germany and the manner in which a police state was formed, economy changed and society indoctrinated via propaganda and education. Source material for classroom use is often hard to find on this topic, not because of scarcity, because of complexity and the need to find accessible materials suitable for curriculum need and pupil ability. In this unit, we provide a range of sources on the main areas covered at GCSE in the UK.
