Hitler, Ribbentrop and Mussolini’s son-in-law

A juxtaposition of a photograph of Hitler, Ribbentrop and the son-in-law of Mussolini at a Nazi Rally in the 1930’s. Use the slider to compare the original black and white image with the colourised version.

Both images are very powerful. The earlier photograph would have been quite widely distributed at the time. It was taken at a large rally and celebrates the connections between Hitler’s Nazi Germany and the Fascist State of Italy. The colourised photograph is a good way of seeing how the rallies would have impacted upon those present. The imagery is often lost in the black and white images.
