Siege of Dunstanburgh Castle 1464

25th June 1464 . Dunstanburgh Castle surrenders. The Wars of the Roses are not particularly known for sieges which is somewhat unusual for medieval warfare. However, with the Lancastrians having a foothold in the North-East there were sieges and some castles changed hands several times. On this occasion the Castle was reoccupied by the Earl of Warwick in the aftermath of the Battle of Hedgely Moor.
