The medieval era stories of pilgrims experiences whilst travelling to worship at Canterbury Cathedral remain a literary favourite to this day.<\/p>\n<h1>Geoffrey Chaucer<\/h1>\n<p>Chaucer was born c1343. He was a member of parliament with bureaucratic and diplomatic roles. Whilst most noted for his poetry, he also wrote a treatise on the Astrolobe for one of his children.<\/p>\n<p>On 26 October 1400 Geoffrey Chaucer passed away.
