Matrimonial Causes Act 1907<\/h3>\n

The Matrimonial Causes Act of 1907 looked at the financial settlement and ongoing maintenance for divorced women and their children. The Act built on previous legislation by improving maintenance payments to divorced and separated women. The Act took into account the children from a broken-down relationship as well as providing for the loss of income due to motherhood. The main aim of the Matrimonial Causes Act was to reduce the risk of poverty for women and children following a divorce or separation.<\/p>\n
