The Colosseum in Rome was built to house sporting events such as the Gladiator Fights. These views are taken from outside of the Colosseum and illustrate the size of the construction - quite impressive for a building that is several thousand years old!

The three images above show the architectural style of the Romans. The Colosseum, like many other Roman constructions, was built on a grand scale.
