Thankyou
for sending you thoughts to Schoolshistory.org.uk
Below you
will find a selection of answers to the most frequently asked
questions.
- Why
do some areas include so many spelling mistakes?
Some sections
of the site are used for web site rewrite exercises. In these
students have to edit text, identify errors and improve a range
of features of the page. In order for this to happen there have
to be mistakes. I'm conscious of the fact that these sections
aren't labelled as being written for this purpose and will be
making some changes to these areas when I get time. However,
not all of the mistakes on the site are deliberate and I thank
anyone who has taken the time to let me know of another one
of my gaffs...
- Can
I submit my resources to the site?
Yes, please
do! The more resources that teachers can access from this and
other websites, the better it is for all of us. If you want
to send in resources let me know via the feedback form and I'll
make arrangements with you. at the moment this site hosts a
range of Schemes of Work, Assessments, Worksheets and several
online lessons that have been submitted by users of the site.
You will, of course, be fully credited for your work.
- Can
I recommend a link or tell you where to find things out about
this, that or the other...
This site
gets lots of requests of this nature. If you are wanting help
with your homework, register on the History
Help forum and post your question there. This spreads the
load amongst a number of teachers who are willing to help out
and means that you are more likely to get the assistance that
you need quickly.
If you are
an adult looking for teaching resources, or sites relating to
something specific I'd recommend registering on the History
Teachers' Discussion Forum and posting your request in the
Teaching requests and ideas section. This maximises the chances
of you getting a rapid and satisfactory conclusion to your search.
I will, wherever possible, try and assist any teacher who has
contacted me via the feedback form.
- Why
don't you have a page on this, that or the other?
The site
is far from finished and I suspect that there'll always be areas
that could or should be included that won't be. The site development
is based on a combination of what I teach and what I want to
write about. Once there is sufficient content on the site to
cater for the needs of the students I teach - and this is a
long way off at the moment - I'll be moving onto things simply
for pleasure. If there's an area that you desperately want to
be included on the site, please let me know. There might be
a site that already caters for the content you are after that
I can point you at, or you might just fire the creative juices
and get me interested in writing a new unit.
